New Eras in Living

As standards of living, and the quality of life continuously increase, so do the changing demands of consumers, parents, educational institutions, and organisations utilising the by-products of educational systems.

To maintain competitiveness and survival, all organisms, social organisms, and organisations must constantly re-invent themselves:

  • This applies to businesses, colleges, universities, and children's education as well.
  • The competitive bar gets higher daily; there are changes at every level.
  • New-paradigms will always be a thing of the present.
  • With every structure, whether human, natural, or man-made, the foundation is key to enduring fabric.

New Era in Early Childhood Education

St. Nicholas Montessori Centre focuses on the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills to learning. To enable every child to realise his or her full potential.

We focus on the total child and start them early to develop competencies to bridge the fundamental framework from which teachers prepare the learning environment and plan appropriate experiences.

The curriculum and adult interactions with children are responsive to individual differences. Each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing for growth. Experiences should match the child's developing abilities while challenging their interest and understanding.

The St. Nicholas Montessori Centre focuses on Social and Cultural Appropriateness. A child's unique personality is developed as a result of their own personal history and the experiences they have within the cultural group they belong to. Among the rules they learn are how to show respect, how to organize time and personal space, and how to interact with people. Decisions about how to care for and educate young children cannot be made without knowledge of the child's cultural and social context.

The new era in Early Childhood Education is structured to make children more confident and independent. Children take a discovery approach to and become enthusiastic about learning. Motivation and positive reinforcement are part of a personalized approach to learning.
